Measure and moisture test
We measure and test the slab. Moisture must be below 3% for glue-down vinyl, otherwise a moisture barrier goes down first.
- 21 day
Level the floor
The floor is primed and a 3 to 5 mm self-levelling screed is poured for a smooth, flat base. It is walkable in 4 to 6 hours.
- 31 to 2 days
Install
Adhesive is trowelled on and the planks are laid from a centre line, so cuts at the walls are even, then rolled for a full bond.
- 4Same day
Finish
The floor is cleaned and heavy furniture stays off for 24 hours. Skirting, trims and a scrub and seal are optional.

Allow extra time where screeding, moisture barriers or old floor removal are needed.
Before we start
A few things that keep the job on time and the result right.
- Rooms cleared of furniture
- New screeds must be fully dry, about 1 day per mm, or sealed with a moisture barrier
- Water and power available for mixing the screed
- Underfloor heating must be off 48 hours before

Why do you screed before LVT?
Thin vinyl shows every bump and dip in the floor below. A self-levelling screed gives the flat, smooth base glue-down vinyl needs to look right and last.
Can LVT go in a bathroom?
Yes. Glue-down LVT is waterproof and we seal the edges, so it suits bathrooms and kitchens.
