Survey and moisture test
We find the high and low points to work out the depth. Moisture must be below 3%, otherwise a moisture barrier goes down first.
- 21 day
Prime and pour
The floor is cleaned and primed, then self-levelling compound is poured and spike-rolled to a smooth, flat finish.
- 34 to 6 hours
Cure
Walkable in 4 to 6 hours. Most floors can go on the next day; thicker pours need longer.
How long it takes

How long before my new floor can go down?
For a typical 3 to 5 mm pour, the next day. Thicker pours and cold, damp weather add time. We test before laying.
What about a brand new sand-cement screed?
New screeds dry at about 1 mm a day, so a 50 mm screed needs around 6 to 7 weeks, or a moisture barrier if you cannot wait.
