Measure and check
We measure, check the floor is level within 3 mm over 2 m and test concrete for moisture.
- 2If needed
Prepare
Hollows are filled and high spots levelled. Badly uneven floors get a self-levelling screed first.
- 31 to 2 days
Install
Planks are clicked together over underlay with staggered joints and an expansion gap at every wall and fixed unit.
- 4Same day
Finish
Wet-area edges are sealed and the floor is cleaned. Skirting and trims are optional.

Allow extra time where screeding, moisture barriers or old floor removal are needed.
Before we start
A few things that keep the job on time and the result right.
- Rooms cleared of furniture
- Floor flat to within 3 mm over 2 m. Worse than that needs a screed first
- Kitchen kickplates removed so the floor runs under cleanly
- Heavy fixed units such as islands should sit on the subfloor, not on the floating floor

SPC or LVT, which is better?
SPC is floating and forgiving, so it goes down fast. Glue-down LVT is quieter and better for large open-plan and commercial spaces. Our LVT vs SPC guide explains it in detail.
Is SPC really waterproof?
The planks are. We also seal the perimeter in bathrooms and kitchens so water cannot get underneath.
