Devils Peak Residence

The brief

The client’s open-plan living area had a laminate floor that had taken on water damage, swelling and lifting at the joints, as laminate does once moisture gets into its core. They wanted a floor that looked every bit as warm and natural but could handle real life in a coastal home.

What we did

We lifted and removed the old, water-damaged laminate down to the bare screed. The subfloor was then self-levelled to a dead-flat finish, the essential step under glue-down vinyl, since any dips or high spots would otherwise telegraph through. With a sound, level base prepared, we installed Aurora II luxury vinyl in the colour Juliet, a soft warm-grey oak that lifts the light-filled room and frames the sea and mountain views.

The result

A seamless 50 m² floor that reads as natural timber, sits perfectly flat wall to wall, and is built to shrug off spills and coastal humidity for years to come.
