Kenilworth Veterinary Clinic

The brief

A veterinary clinic is one of the toughest floors to get right. It has to be hygienic and easy to clean, stand up to constant traffic, spills and cleaning chemicals, and stay sealed against moisture. The clinic on Kenilworth Main Road needed a hard-wearing surface through the working areas and a warmer, more welcoming finish in the front, all on a base that would not fail under daily use.

What we did

We built the floor from the ground up. First the prep: a VAPORiTe+PLUS moisture barrier with an ITE slurry application to lock down rising damp, then LEVELiTe F30 self-levelling screed to bring the whole area dead-flat. Over that we installed 135 m² of Wanabiwood Exceed 200, a 2 mm PUR-coated commercial vinyl that is hygienic and easy to clean, ideal for the clinic's working spaces. In the front we laid 65 m² of Como Mountain Range LVT in Sierra Madre, a 2.5 mm plank with a 0.55 mm wear layer and a four-sided bevel for a warm, realistic wood look, taking the job to 200 m² in total.

The result

A clean, sealed, hard-wearing clinic floor: hygienic PUR-coated vinyl where it works hardest, a warm wood-look LVT out front, and a moisture-proof, level base under all of it.
