The brief
A Pinelands home wanted one cohesive floor flowing through the main living spaces, the lounge, dining room, kitchen and passage. The catch: the existing floor was a mix of old laminate and tiles, and the client didn’t want the disruption of ripping all the tiling out.
What we did
We lifted the old laminate, then tackled the tiled areas cleverly: rather than demolishing them, we ground the tiles to key the surface and applied a slurry / skim coat over the top, creating one flat, sound and bondable base across the whole area. On to that we glued Allegro X luxury vinyl in Persimmon, a warm oak tone, running the same plank continuously through all 75 m² for a seamless flow from room to room.
The result
A warm, continuous vinyl floor through the whole living area, no thresholds, no level changes, and none of the mess of a full tile strip-out.
