Sunset Beach Home

The brief

The owners of this Sunset Beach home liked the look of their polished epoxy floor but not the feel of it. Epoxy is hard and cool underfoot, and in the bedrooms it made the rooms feel cold rather than cosy. They wanted a warmer, softer, more inviting floor, without the mess and cost of ripping the existing one out.

What we did

SPC was the perfect answer. Because Aspen Rigid Core SPC is a rigid click-together plank, we floated it straight over the existing epoxy floor. No demolition, no dust, and the rooms were back in use quickly. We laid it in the warm Italian Oak decor and finished neatly against the walls with 90 mm polymer skirting, across two bedrooms and an office, 45 m² in total.

The result

Two bedrooms and an office that now feel warm and finished rather than cold and clinical, with a hard-wearing, waterproof oak-look floor and clean skirting lines, all achieved without lifting the old floor.
